Hydration vs. Wellness IV: What Is the Difference?

A woman sits in a chair receiving an IV drip from a nurse in a high-rise room with city and mountain views outside the window.

ZipDrip’s Hydration treatment contains one litre of IV fluids, while Wellness combines vitamins and other ingredients in 250 mL of fluids. They are different formulations, not simply smaller and larger versions of the same drip. Choosing between them starts with your health history and the Registered Nurse’s assessment—not which name sounds more appealing.

If you’re comparing options for a visit to your Vancouver home, those differences give you a useful starting point for asking questions before you book.

Compare fluid volume and ingredients separately

Hydration focuses on IV fluids. Wellness includes vitamin C, B-complex vitamins, taurine, B2 and glutathione in a smaller fluid volume. Ask ZipDrip to confirm the current formulation and proposed amounts before treatment.

The amount of fluid and the ingredient list describe different parts of the treatment. A bag containing more vitamins does not automatically provide more hydration, and a larger bag is not automatically the right choice.

Do not use thirst, a busy week or a treatment name to decide how much IV fluid you need. The volume matters clinically, particularly when a person’s health conditions affect how their body handles fluids.

Know what a treatment name does not tell you

“Wellness” is a menu name, not a diagnosis or evidence that you have a vitamin deficiency. Feeling tired does not identify which nutrient, if any, is lacking. An ingredient’s role in the body also does not prove that infusing it will improve energy in someone who already has adequate levels.

Likewise, an IV is not automatically better than drinking fluids. Oral hydration remains an ordinary way to replace fluids when you can drink and keep them down. A mobile wellness appointment should not replace medical assessment for persistent or severe symptoms.

Compare the current treatment options without assuming that more ingredients mean better results. Ask what the proposed treatment is intended to address and what benefit can reasonably be expected.

Bring the right questions to screening

Have your medication and supplement list, allergies and relevant medical history ready. Mention previous reactions to an infusion and any instructions you have received about restricting fluids. Do not leave out prescribed medication because it seems unrelated to hydration.

Ask the Registered Nurse about the selected formula, possible side effects and what would make treatment unsuitable. IV access can cause bruising or vein irritation; infection and reactions are also risks that need discussion.

You can ask questions or decline treatment. Booking an appointment does not mean the infusion must proceed if the assessment raises concerns.

Discuss your options with ZipDrip

ZipDrip brings RN-administered IV therapy to suitable homes, offices and hotels in Vancouver and surrounding service areas. Confirm availability for your exact address rather than assuming every location has the same appointment options.

Treatment includes health-history screening and sterile, single-use IV equipment. A Registered Nurse administers the infusion and handles clinical waste. You can also review ZipDrip’s appointment FAQs before contacting the team.

Frequently asked questions

Does Wellness contain the same fluid volume as Hydration?

No. The approved menu lists Hydration at one litre and Wellness at 250 mL. Those volumes should not be treated as a recommendation for you personally.

Is Wellness a substitute for a balanced diet?

No. An infusion does not replace food, ordinary hydration or assessment of a suspected deficiency.

Can I choose a larger bag for a stronger effect?

Do not select volume on that basis. Fluid amount and ingredient suitability need assessment, and more does not mean better.

Can I receive treatment without sharing my medical history?

Health-history screening is part of the service. Relevant conditions, medications and allergies help the Registered Nurse assess suitability.
